An ADU Designed To Float

Our modern El Cerrito ADU replaced an existing outdoor shed, nestled in the rear yard of a downward sloping lot, offering sweeping views of the Bay Area. This contemporary ADU embraced multilevel living, mirroring the contours of the site in order to provide a dynamic living experience within a compact yet thoughtfully designed space.

Vision

A large sloping roofline mimics the surrounding landscape seamlessly blending with the contours of the site. Glass corner windows, an open grate catwalk, and a recessed foundation create the illusion of floating in position, enhancing the visual connection to the surrounding environment.

Features at a Glance

  • Split level floor plan defines functions yet remains visually open
  • CorTen steel cladding design to blend into the landscape over time
