Balinese Culture and Craft

Monkey Forest Café and Bar stands as one of Larson Shores' inaugural restaurant projects in the Bay Area, inspired by the owner's deep affection for Bali and Indonesian culture and craft.

Vision

The Owner's passion sparked the vision for a multi-functional space blending café and gallery, showcasing their curated collection. Drawing from the rich tapestry of Indonesian aesthetics, elements like folding planes, exposed brick walls, sliding screens walls, and an interior courtyard garden bathed in natural light evoke the serene ambiance of Bali. By revitalizing an abandoned building, we crafted a striking exterior façade with vibrant colors and repetitive motifs, transforming the final café and gallery on the commercial strip into an eye-catching destination.
