Ala Mar Dominican Kitchen was conceived to celebrate the chef's heritage from the Dominican Republic, offering an authentic regional menu in a vibrant, welcoming setting.

Vision

Our objective was to craft an inviting eatery where casual dining, lively conversation, and a stellar bar menu reflected the chef's personality and aesthetic vision. We integrated the concept of seaside living as a common thread displayed throughout the space via custom lighting, foot rests, wall décor and even structural elements holding bar shelving together. Situated on the corner of Grand Avenue near Lake Merritt, the restaurant's design allows the chef's personality to shine from afar and envelops guests in an immersive dining experience once inside.
