A Menu That Changes Daily

Picnic on Third Street in downtown San Francisco emerged from an empty storefront into a lively, eco-conscious café led by two dynamic female chefs.

Vision

Drawing inspiration from the quintessential picnic experience, we infused the design with familiar elements like mason jars, woven baskets, and container lids coupled with cozy accents such as warm wood paneling and antique tchotchkes. The pièce de résistance became the focal point of the space: a vibrant wall showcasing an array of spices and herbs used in their wholesome cooking to supporting a menu that changes daily. Each visit promises a unique culinary adventure, ensuring no two days are ever the same since the café's inception.

  • Motifs and repetitions around the use of the mason jar
  • Spice wall that reflects initial concept design
