A blighted rear yard open court was transformed into an urban oasis for a vegetarian based Filipino cafe and restaurant in the heart of downtown San Francisco.

Vision

We brought the concept of Filipino basket weaving and textiles into the mix when considering a much needed sun shade in the rear yard patio. This existing area needed respite from the sun which is blanketed with direct light during the day. The "deconstructed" trellis gives visual vibrancy, dramatic shadows, and scale to the space making each visit memorable.
