A planned visit to the Korean Museum of Art lent a pleasant surprise as I stumbled upon one of best architecture exhibits that I have ever seen. Filled with models, drawings, material explorations and history beautifully laid out in an expansive gallery all dedicated to the brilliant works of Sir Norman Foster.

The amount of influential buildings that Norman Foster has created in his lifetime is truly inspiring. How does an architect go from the sm to xl in one's career that inherently is not that long in the grand spectrum of things?

LSA Takes A Leap: Office Relocation to San Francisco After 17 Years In Berkeley / Oakland

Exposing Nature In Napa Valley

In collaboration with Redhorse Constructors in San Rafael, we had the privilege of designing a standalone sauna that seamlessly complements the original residence, crafted by the esteemed Fernau + Hartman in Berkeley, CA. A key feature of this jewel-box structure is the integration of three natural boulders from the site, thoughtfully preserved within the interior. Corner skylights, standing-seam metal siding, and a custom cantilevered foundation highlight the unique beauty of the building, its surroundings, and the landscape. This modernist sauna, nestled in Napa Valley, was conceived as a retreat for relaxation, offering framed views of the surrounding apple orchards and fostering a sense of meditative well-being.
